About Mahabaleshwar

Arthur’s Seat Arthur’s Seat is the most famous viewpoint in Mahabaleshwar, often called the “Queen of all Points.” It offers a stunning contrast between the lush green valleys of the Savitri River on one side and barren deep valleys on the other. The point is named after Arthur Malet, who lost his wife and child in the Savitri River and used to sit here gazing at the valley in grief. A fascinating feature of this spot is its geological uniqueness — rocks here are of the laterite type and unusually buoyant, giving the illusion that they float on water. It’s a perfect destination for history lovers and nature seekers.

Elephant’s Head Point This picturesque point gets its name from a rock formation that resembles the head and trunk of an elephant. Located close to Kate’s Point, it offers a commanding view of the Sahyadri mountain ranges and the deep valleys below. The tranquil environment and lesser crowd make it ideal for peaceful introspection and photography. During the monsoon, the misty surroundings add a magical touch, making it feel like you’re walking among the clouds.

You’ll find food stalls and games near the lake, making it an excellent spot for families and tourists of all ages. Paddle boats and rowboats are available, and the area comes alive in the evening with soft lighting and cool breeze.

Lingmala Waterfall Lingmala Waterfall is one of Mahabaleshwar’s most spectacular natural wonders, especially during and just after the monsoon. The main waterfall cascades from a height of about 600 feet into a deep valley, creating a mesmerizing sight.
